Just Take the First Step!

Hello Everyone, I'm hoping that this message brightens up your day.  Do you know you can have what you want to have? In 2015, I took the first step and worked on myself.  I decided that if I wanted change then I had to be the change first and foremost.  We have a tendency to demand so much of others but many times, the demands should first start within.  Whenever someone tells you something critical about yourself and then someone else tells you the very same thing and they do not ... I am Still a Rose

Hello Rose, This has been an incredible year for me! I know you've been wondering where I have been.  The answer is simple. I've been trying to stay afloat. In doing so, I have not been attentive to you for a long time and for that I'm sorry.  Raising a twelve year old, working  hard to be the best single mom I can be; working as a project manager for the federal government, that's taken a huge amount of time to learn my new job and to work with over sixty people to help them get on ... Think of Challenges as Seasons

Hello there, Have you taken the time to notice that fall is in the air?  I have.  Just as I remember being excited that the trees were beginning to spud with leaves, so are the beautiful flowers appearing just like that in the spring.  It is always so amazing to watch springtime blossom right before our eyes. And to think, it usually takes place right after a snow- storm, blizzard, or simply just bad weather.  You know what this means, right?  Just endure a little while longer to see ... Continue Reading

If you want kindness, give kindness

May has been a great month! Many have read my book and I’ve received lots of positive feedback. Most importantly, “The Little Girl Inside Owning My Role in My Own Pain,” is helping women face their own pain. It’s helping them realize that they are special and they deserve to be happy. Reading my book has made them understand that they are not alone in this world and when in pain, it’s better to reach out to others so that they can get help. It’s ok to admit things aren’t the way ... Continue Reading

Just a Small Distraction

And here I was, sad because I could not move as I typically move.  I return to work next week after recuperating from knee surgery. Still have six more weeks of therapy and could be many more considering how my knee feels right now.  I have been home over a month! I didn’t need this.  I have not been a happy person.  I was focused more on the fact that I was well one moment and the next; I had to rely on others to help me because I could not move as I once did.  I could barely make it up ... A Rose is Still a Rose

We try so hard to please, yet we never do. We strive to be the best parent ever but some how, our children grow up and are the first to boldly ask us why we didn’t do this or that for them. Some even have the audacity to state we never did anything for them. We work hard day-in, day-out to perform on our jobs hoping that our bosses are happy, yet, we never seem to make the mark to get a promotion or even a “thank you.” We are often told by our so- called best friends or coworkers (as if ... Happy Easter! Happy Spring!

Happy Spring! With Spring comes Easter. It's not about just dressing up in your finest clothes and visiting church. It's about a new beginning. It's a time to regroup, re evaluate your life and consider making a few changes to get things in order: primarily to seek  a better relationship with our Father, our family, and with our neighbors. Consider rebirth. A time for change. What I plan to do this Easter besides getting a new outfit and going to church is to get to know God better. I want ... Continue Reading

Happy Valentines

February,  we've been told it's a time to show love right?  I've always wondered even as a little kid, are we only to show love on February 14?  We all know the answer to that question is "no."  We should love, show kindness every day?  Even if your hearts are in pain for one reason or another, there is always someone you could share your love and kindness with.  Look around, you'll see, there is someone.  What about the lonely neighbor; what about the lady the in the store that bumped ... Too Much on Our Plate

Have you ever felt like you want to do everything imaginable but there is only one you? Have you felt like you're being pulled in all directions but you know you need to go down one path and prioritize all of the thoughts in your head? Well, that's how I feel today.  I feel like I want to do everything NOW!  But that's impossible.  I am only one person.  I can only do so much in a 24 hour period.  Sometimes, we have to slow down.  We have to take one day at a time.  We have come ... Happy New Year

It’s a New Year!  Can you believe it?  It’s here whether we’re ready or not.  I am happy to report that I was ready.  It gives us a chance to start over.  It gives us an opportunity to look at where we were and glance at where we would like to go.  My goal is to get it right this year.  I know that it won’t be perfect but I am going to do everything in my power to get it going better than it was going last year. For starters, I prayed that God help me decipher who’s good for ... Continue Reading
